The LRC's mission is the support of foreign language courses in the Faculty of Arts & Sciences. Although housed in Lamont Library, the LRC is a multimedia classroom of the FAS and not a part of the Harvard College Library. In principle, LRC admission is limited to current FAS affiliates and Extension School students who have been issued LRC passes by the Extension School Registrar's Office. "Special Borrowers" pay a fee to use certain Harvard Library facilities. Because the LRC is an active classroom for current Harvard students, we regret that we cannot extend access to LRC facilities or materials to special borrowers.
Lamont Library, in which the LRC is housed, is open ONLY to Harvard students, faculty, staff, and affiliates. You will be required to present valid Harvard ID in order to enter Lamont Library. This can be especially frustrating for cross-registrants from MIT whose Harvard ID cards have not yet been issued. If you are having difficulty gaining access to the building, please contact us for assistance at (617) 495-9448.

Faculty from other institutions who wish to visit the LRC may contact the LRC Director (by phone 617-496-0607 or email email@example.com) and make an appointment.
Non-degree Extension School students using the LRC for class assignments must first receive an LRC access card from the Registrar's Office, Division of Continuing Education, 51 Brattle Street, 4th Floor (617-495-4024). The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm.
